Social Progress hosted the first Social Sharing Networking Event of 2015 on Friday 6th February at Soul Kitchen, Holmfirth. Jeff Long was our guest speaker from Business Doctors.
There were over 14 different businesses represented at the seminar where Jeff presented “Breaking Big” – a 45 minute seminar that explored how to review where your business is at, pin-point where you want to go and how you are going to get there. Jeff shared many words of wisdom as well as giving attendees the chance to win a copy of the official “Breaking Big” Book – written by the very Business Doctors themselves – by putting their business cards in a prize draw!
Janet was the official Master of Ceremonies directing the event and I (Esther) was her assistant welcoming, checking everyone in and making sure they were all happy – team effort!
At the end of the event, after everyone had enjoyed their delicious home-made soup and handmade bread (from Soul Kitchen, Holmfirth), each representative had 1 minute to introduce themselves and say a bit about what they do. This was a great opportunity for people to exercise/stretch their networking and presentation skills. Some people were more confident than others but because of the relaxed atmosphere, everyone was very attentive, respectful and encouraging.
“It’s great to see so many women at a networking event. Many that I go to are heavily make orientated. It’s nice to have such a relaxed atmosphere where everyone has chance to speak about who they are and who they’re looking to connect with as a business.” – Nigel Greenwood, Simply Customer
Overall, I personally really enjoyed Social Sharing Networking and it was great to see so many people there representing so many different companies!
