This month celebrated the return of Kirklees Business Conference after a global pandemic and two year wait! The conference, organised and hosted by Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, is usually an annual business-to-business event celebrating the innovative and vibrant businesses and organisations of Kirklees and the surrounding area.
This year Alex, Abbie and Joanna were excited to attend the much anticipated event at The John Smith’s Stadium, on behalf of Social Progress, manning our stand and chatting to attendees. The team had a great day reconnecting with clients and friends, and forging new connections within the Huddersfield business community.
“As my first time attending the Kirklees Business Conference, I was proud to be representing Social Progress and really enjoyed chatting to people about what we do.” said Abbie Keogh from the Social Progress team, “It was nice to see a variety of different business from across Kirklees (and even further afield!) come together for the conference. There was a great atmosphere, and everyone was extremely friendly! I was also managing the twitter account for Kirklees Business Conference in the run up to the event and on the day, so it was great to see the wider business community engaging with the event too!”
Another reason for excitement within the team, is that Kirklees Business Conference saw the re-launch of our popular Twitter wall, Big Screen Social! After a couple of years without in-person events, it was the perfect opportunity to get Big Screen Social back in action! Throughout the course of the day, our Twitter wall displayed hundreds of tweets from people using #KirkleesConf, keeping people connected, even if they weren’t physically at the event!
Since the event earlier this month, we’ve seen a record number of enquiries for our services, many of which can be attributed to the valuable conversations and connections the team built during the day – we can’t wait for KBC 2023, and we hope to see you all there!
