Last week we hosted yet another successful #RetroFriday business networking event right here at Social Progress and Creative Analysis HQ (aka Bridge House). We had about 35 people pop in between 10am – 12noon, some familiar faces and some new ones, some local and some not so local – it was fab to see everyone! We even got our first ever Bridge House Team Photo! Yeah!
There was a great buzz about the place and once everyone had brewed up with a cup of Fairtrade tea or coffee, the conversations got going! There were businessmen and women from various backgrounds and companies all enjoying this free social event. The great thing about Retro Friday is that it’s a totally free-flowing networking event where people can simply connect and chat – rather than having a structured plan of who’s talking/when and having to sit through a presentation.
Janet Bebb (Social Progress) and Paula Atherill (Creative Analysis) started Retro Friday soon after they moved into their newly refurbished offices (in Honley) almost a year ago! Both Paula and Janet have “little helpers” – Will and Esther who now help out at Retro Friday too! Esther was taking lots of photos and posting onto our social media about the event and Will was working hard behind the scenes to keep the drinks topped up and the offices tidy! Team effort!
Another great part to this Retro Friday was that Janet and Paula were able to give the visitors a tour of the offices upstairs (where Janet is currently setting up a new BNI Group called BNI Bridge). The upstairs rooms have been dubbed “The Training Rooms” for the time being as the aim is to hire them out for events and meetings. Lots of people disappeared upstairs to have a sneak peak… For more information about Room Hire do contact Janet on 01484 506336.
Overall we thought this was a great end to a very busy week and we had lots of fun and met lots of lovely people. No jargon. No fuss. Just us and a good Fairtrade brew! Find out about our next Retro Friday on 3rd July 2015 on our website here: What’s On
