We’re delighted to see LinkedIn changing and adapting to keep their users engaged and benefiting from the professional business platform. This week sees a few new features being introduced.
View Page Followers
LinkedIn Company Pages admins have been able to see the number of followers they have, but up until now they haven’t been able to see who is following them. But now that’s changed and admins can now see who follows your page.
Admins can also view your LinkedIn Company Page followers based on location, job function, seniority, industry & company size.
Another feature you’ve been able to do for a while now is to invite your connections to follow your page. However, I think I’d rather people followed our Social Progress LinkedIn Company Page because they find it to be useful rather than because I’ve invited them to do so. What are your thoughts on this?
LinkedIn Company Page – Events Tab
Although most events are happening online currently, they’re still a very important part of building your network and making valuable connections. With this in mind, LinkedIn introduced Events a few months back and the team here at Social Progress were invited to test the feature out and give out feedback. We were remunerated with a lovely box of goodies each for our input. Thank you again LinkedIn!
We highlighted a few challenges in setting up and people finding the events on LinkedIn, which was hidden slightly from view at the time. Thankfully LinkedIn took on board our suggestions. However, I’m sure lots of others that tested out the events gave the same or similar feedback.
So now there’s a whole new tab just for Events on LinkedIn Company Pages. Events could be webinars, training delivery, conferences or networking. You can share the events, post on the events page and invite your connections to attend.
For example we’re one of the partners for MY Network which meets on the third Wednesday monthly. Since the start of the lockdown we’ve been meeting virtually via Zoom and promoted then on Eventbrite. These have worked extremely well and we’ve seen on average 60 businesses registering each month and our reach has increased from just the local Huddersfield area to further afield and in some cases overseas.
We really like both updates LinkedIn have introduced. We hope you do too.
