Kirklees Business Hub LIVE Launch

Nov 10, 2016

Kirklees Business Hub officially launched #HubKirklees on Friday 30th September 2016. The Kirklees Business Hub is a digital hub where Kirklees businesses can register and access local information, seek advice from the Hub Advocates and find out about business events and training across the Kirklees area.

Janet Bebb - Social Progress Ltd - Kirklees Business Hub Advocate - Kirklees - Huddersfield - Social Media TrainingJanet Bebb is one of the official Hub Advocates and Social Progress has already registered on the Kirklees Business Hub – have you? It’s free to register and unlocks access to the whole Hub online.

Esther Orridge was at the launch which was located in the Fantastic Media Suite at John Smith’s Stadium in Huddersfield. Esther was there managing Big Screen Social and the Kirklees Business Hub Twitter Account on behalf of the event organisers. This allowed them to concentrate on ensuring the event ran smoothly whilst Esther took photos, tweeted and encouraged attendees to get involved with the Twitter Wall by using the event hashtag #HubKirklees. Needless to say that Big Screen Social was placed in the ideal location on a 55 inch TV screen where attendees could watch and engage with the activity on screen.

There was so much Twitter activity during the event (on both the @KirkleesBiz Twitter account and the #HubKirklees hashtag) that two Media and Journalism students from Huddersfield University turned up to see what all the “digital noise” was about. They interviewed Steve Moore from Hub Kirklees about the event and Kirklees Business Hub itself. Then they took general footage of the event too for their coverage.

“Having the screen displayed clearly in a networking area ensures that people can’t miss the screen! People see the Twitter activity (their own tweets and photos) clearly displayed on Big Screen Social and naturally want to get in on the action by using the event hashtag. After all, it’s free air time for their business!” – Esther Orridge, Social Progress Ltd

A special shout-out goes to Helen Ashcroft from Purple Dog Ltd for stepping in and supporting Esther at this event when Janet was unable to attend. Helen is an honorary member of Team SoPro and we appreciate her very much! She manned the Digital and Technology stand with fellow Kirklees Hub Advocate, Stewart from Design Mechanics.

The launch event was well attended. There was ample opportunity for attendees to meet and greet both the Kirklees Business Hub team, the official Advocates and key influencers from the area during the breakfast networking event. Carol Carr and Amy Hurd have organised more Hub Kirklees LIVE events which are coming up across the Kirklees area over the next few months. You can find out about the Kirklees Business Hub LIVE events coming up and book on the website: www.kirkleesbusinesshub.com/Events We’ll be there – will you?
