Is Writing a Blog Worth Your Time? Why Your Personal Touch Outperforms AI Every Time.
I remember the first time I sat down with a cup of tea to write a blog for my business. I felt a bit lost.
It wasn’t until I dug a little deeper that I discovered it was more than just a way to fill a website. It was about sharing a part of myself, connecting with readers, and, yes, even playing a little smart Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) game.
Think of your blog as a friendly local café. Each post acts like opening a new window, inviting people in to explore what’s happening inside.
It’s where you share your stories, your insights, and the quirky details of your everyday.
And as you chat with your readers, you’re also quietly whispering in search engines’ ears.
By carefully choosing keywords that feel natural (those little phrases your ideal reader may search for) you’re ensuring that when someone looks for a friendly, real conversation about your niche, they find you.
It’s never about stuffing copy with fancy words or complex jargon. Keeping it easily relatable is key.
I started thinking about the topics that truly mattered to me in starting my business. The experiences that shaped my perspective. The copywriting and public relations services I was offering. I began to use them in my stories to help create a bond with my readers.
And in the background, a meta description (a concise, compelling summary that promises value and authenticity) was quietly working its magic.
This little piece of text helped search engines and readers alike know exactly what they were in for.
And in doing so, I found a blog holds dual value. On one hand, it’s a creative outlet where you get to share your journey, your wins and even your missteps. On the other, it’s a strategic tool that helps your business get noticed online.
When you write as though you’re having a chat with a friend, you naturally include the things that matter. Your passion, your expertise and your unique voice. Search engines appreciate that authenticity too.
When I write, I’m not stringing words together for SEO. I’m sharing experiences, thoughts, and human insights that connect with people in a way artificial intelligence (AI) simply can’t.
I hear the argument. AI churns out articles at lightning speed. It’s easy to wonder if writing a blog yourself is even worth it anymore.
But blogs are so much more than AI, keywords and rankings (although, let’s be honest, those help). They’re about trust.
A good blog makes readers feel like they know you, as though they can have a conversation with you.
AI can mimic tone, but it can’t genuinely understand a business’s values, emotions, or those little human quirks that make content relatable.
Use it as a starting tool for research assistance, but don’t leave your copy feeling hollow like a wrapped gift box with nothing inside.
Readers can tell when something’s missing. They want stories, opinions, and authenticity. They want you.
