Over the past few months Facebook has recently changed how it is now collecting data from a businesses pixel code. All of this is down to Apple who released changes with iOS 14 that affects how they receive and process events from the Facebook pixel. Because of this Facebook have had to change the process on how you setup your pixel code. Don’t worry though as we’re about to show you, step-by-step, of what you need to do…

Creating Your Pixel

Creating a pixel code allows you to collect data of the people who visit your website and use that to target adverts directly to them and others like them.
  1. Open up your Business Manager settings and go to ‘Pixels’.
1
2. Press the blue ‘Add’ button at the top of the page.
2
3. A pop-up box should open. Enter the name your pixel and then press continue. (We suggest “name of business” Pixel).
3
4. Next press “Set up Pixel now”.
4
5. Next select the option best for your situation.

Manually Add – Facebook will give you a bit of HTML code for you to copy and add directly to the <head> of your website. NOTE: if you are not familiar with websites and HTML then this may not be the best choice for you.

Integration – Press ‘integration’ method and chose which you would like to integrate it with, then all you have to do is log into that account and it should do it automatically add the Pixel to your site.

Email To A Developer – This will send the code for your pixel code to your specified web developer for them to add to the <head> of your website.

2
3. A pop-up box should open. Enter the URL of your website and then press continue.

4
5. Copy the Meta Tag in the first section (the bit in bold) and either send this to your web developer to add to the <head> of your website or you can do this yourself.
