Wow, can you believe it’s been 4 years since I started at Social Progress and a lot has happened in the past few years, to say the least! There’s been Covid, issues in Ukraine and even the death of the Queen. But throughout the hard times there’s always been one constant in my day-to-day life that I can rely on for happiness and support, Social Progress.

Since the day I started, I like to think that I hit the ground running, although, now I look back it was more of a crawl. I was excited to be given the chance to prove myself in the office as I’d had minimal experience and spent the previous 10 years working in commercial kitchens. While working in kitchens, although I loved the cooking, I was locked away from the public with minimal interactions and as weird as it sounds…. no windows to look outside! It’s amazing how you appreciate the little things when you get a new job and this was a prime example. Coming to Social Progress I appreciated having more free time with my friends and family, the ability to meet new and interesting people, and even something as simple as looking out the window while working.

When I first started working here, I remember looking after my first ever social media client, Vendmarque and being so motivated to help them out I ended up working double the amount of time that I was supposed to – silly me! Since then, Social Progress has helped me to develop both my personal and professional skills as I work, especially videography which I love. It’s great to come to work and to be trusted to ‘get on with it’ and not be micro managed all the time.

I don’t think it would have been as easy transferring from one industry to another if it wasn’t for the support from others in the team. They are always on hand to help, not only their clients, but also each other. It definitely makes the day-to-day less stressful and it’s nice knowing that there’s always someone here to have your back if you’re starting to struggle.

In simple words “Social Progress is a great place to work and wouldn’t want to work anywhere else” – Here’s to another 4 years…. And more!
