You may or may not have seen the new news; someone new has joined the Social Progress Team last week. We’d like to introduce Jorja Woolhead. As is tradition, we’ve asked her to write a blog about herself as she starts her new chapter as a Social Media Account Manager. This is what she has to say:
Hello! I’m Jorja, the newest member here at Social Progress. I am just about to finish university with a degree in digital and social media marketing, so I think this is the perfect role for me! I’ve gained a great understanding the development of social media strategies I can’t wait to actually work in the field to expand my knowledge in the real working world. After being at university for three years now and already securing myself a job for when I finish it’s making me a whole lot more thrilled to be finally finishing.
When I’m not writing my dissertation or one of my final assignments for university I like to keep busy with long walks, drinking lots of peppermint tea (occasionally a glass of wine) and watching crime documentaries on Netflix to help me forget about the 15,000 words I need to write, although I’m nearly there now, only 1000 words to go! Starting at Social Progress whilst still being at university has helped me develop my understanding of how social media management and marketing really works in order to use what I’ve learned for these last few assignments I’ve got to complete. Which has been a perfect way of using what I’ve learnt in the first week here at SoPro, but also applying the skills developed at university to the job role.
In my first week I’ve already learned a whole new set of skills, whether its navigating a new software or finding new way of speaking to clients and managing my time. I can already tell it’s going to be a fast paced job which will require me to spread my time between clients perfectly while constantly developing my own skills further.
I have always been an avid user of social media, keeping up to date with what’s going on in the world and seeing what friends are doing, so being able to use my skills in the work place will be great. So I am very excited to meet all the SoPro clients and hopefully help achieve greatness through social media.
After only being here a week I already feel like part of the team and being introduced to all my clients with a great hand over from Gemma has made it a lot easier. I’m excited to see what this opportunity will bring in the future, to work closely with clients, help develop strategies and content and, of course, have fun and eat lots of cake!
We’re excited to have SoPro Jorja on board and look forward to introducing her to you over the next few weeks and months. Please do help us make her feel welcome and say “hello”.
