We are delighted to introduce our new team member, Kira! She recently joined our team after relocating to Huddersfield from Manchester, where she spent three years studying.

Kira began working in the media industry during the start of her second year of university, gaining an array of skills including camera operation, editing, production management, social media account management, photography, and videography.

Since graduating from university, Kira has worked in social media and expressed her excitement to learn new things in her role at Social Progress. She also looks forward to developing her skills further.

Here’s what Kira has to say about her new role at Social Progress:

How did she get to where she is today?

From a young age, I pursued my interest in all things media by making vlogs with my mum’s camcorder, pretending to be a radio presenter, spending time in front of the camera, and taking countless photos wherever I went.

As I grew older, I developed a passion for social media. I actively followed trends, created YouTube videos as a teen, and constantly sought new ways to create content.

At college, I studied Media Studies, which allowed me to explore my creative abilities and understand the behind-the-scenes aspects of the media industry. Later, I studied TV & Radio Production at university, where I refined my skills and deepened my interests.

At the start of my second year at university, I began work experience at a digital production company. I eventually secured a job there, which allowed me to acquire a broad range of skills, including Social Media Account Management. When I outgrew that role, I spent the following year focusing on social media, developing my personal presence and exploring various roles to find the best fit for me.

This journey led me to Social Progress! My partner and I decided to move closer to our families in East Yorkshire and the North East, eventually settling in Huddersfield, where some of our family already lives. That’s when my journey with Social Progress began. This role feels like the perfect fit for me, and I’m eager to build on my skills, explore new opportunities, and develop lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.

What is she most looking forward to?

I’m really looking forward to diving in and learning more about the ever-evolving world of social media, as well as building strong connections with our clients. From a young age, I always dreamed of helping people, even if I couldn’t pinpoint the exact career I wanted. This role gives me the chance to help clients’ social media accounts stand out and succeed.

I take pride in my confident and bubbly personality, and I can’t wait to bring that energy into my new role.

I feel optimistic about the journey ahead. With the dynamic nature of social media, I’m excited to learn new things and acquire new skills. My journey is just beginning, and I look forward to making a difference and leaving a lasting impact in the digital marketing world.
