Ethan’s Work Experience

I picked to go to Social Progress for my work experience because I do graphic design at school and are interested in social media and how it works. This is what I got up to during the week.

On Monday, I was welcomed by Alex and Tiny the dog (Because Janet was out for the day). Alex told me that my task for the was to create 6 difference logos based of something that I like on Canva. Which he ran me through how to use before he set me off to do the task. After I had completed the logos I was tasked with picking the best logo and creating some brand guidelines based off of the logo I picked. Then once I finished the tasks I was given. Alex tuck a picture of me so we could post it on the Social Progress media pages. He showed me how to edited a photo in adobe lightroom. I then came up with the bio to go with the post and then posted it on the social progress media pages. (Which is here)

The next day when I came in, we looked to see who had liked or reacted to the post we made yesterday and it turned out that my school had liked it. After we finished looking, I was set of for my task for the day which was to create my own social media pages based on my favourite logo form yesterday which I already picked and the brand guidelines that goes with it. I did some on the pages like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitch and Kick. After I complete all the pages the best it could I created my first post to go on them using the brand guidelines that I created (Click here to see what it looks like). I then ask what I should do next and they said that I could create anther post that can go on my social media pages which I complete while Alex and Janet was in a meeting with a client (You can see the 2nd post here)

On the 3rd day, me and Janet went to the MY Network in Huddersfield in the morning. It was very interning because I had a change to meet other people for difference business in the area and see how some of the business collaborate together sometimes. Whilst I was there, I got some videos and photos so that when I got back, I could help Alex create a video about the event. When I came back Alex was busy but I got stared on the video by the time he had finished what he was doing the video was nearly complete and he help with the final bit to do with it. I then posted it on the social Progress media pages. (Which is here). After that I still had some time so stared doing the blog to post once I had finished my work experience.

On my last day, I had a go at creating a website based of a logo design I created on the first day. We used the brand guidelines to create the theme for it and what font and colours to use in it and finished doing the blog for the social Progress Website. Which you are reading now.

I would like to say a big thank you to Alex and Janet for letting me complete my work experience at Social Progress. I have learnt a lot whilst have been here and seen the behind the scene of social media context and creating of a website/ business.
