1 Month of SoPro Elliott!

Apr 16, 2024

We were delighted to open our arms and welcome SoPro Elliott to the team last month. He’s hit the ground running, and it’s like he’s always been here!

We wanted to find out what he thought of his first month here at Social Progress, so he’s written a blog to tell us all about it! Have a read of what he thinks here:

Starting this new role as a Social Media Account Manager at Social Progress has been quite the adventure. From day one, it’s been non-stop action. Every day brings something fresh – crafting content, handling client queries, scheduling posts, planning – you name it. Social media’s always changing, so staying on your toes and thinking creatively is key.

Transitioning from In-house Marketing

Transitioning from in-house marketing to the world of agency life was a journey in itself. After spending considerable time in the intricacies of in-house marketing, stepping into the realm of agency work felt like setting sail into uncharted waters. Yet, it’s been an eye-opening experience that has broadened my perspective and challenged me in new and exciting ways.

Agency life isn’t just about promoting a single brand – it’s about immersing in the digital ecosystems of multiple clients, understanding their unique challenges, and crafting tailored solutions that drive them towards success. While the transition presented its fair share of challenges, it also brought a wealth of opportunities for growth and development. Embracing this shift with an open mind and a willingness to learn has been instrumental in my first month as a Social Media Account Manager at Social Progress.

Building Relationships with Clients

Building meaningful relationships with clients has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my role. I firmly believe in the importance of establishing trust and rapport to foster collaboration and achieve mutual success. Effective communication, coupled with proactive engagement, has been key in nurturing these relationships. Whether it’s through regular check-ins, timely responses, or injecting a bit of personality into our interactions, I’ve made it a priority to keep the lines of communication open and transparent. By demonstrating a genuine interest in their objectives and concerns, I’ve been able to lay the foundation for strong relationships built on respect, understanding, and a bit of banter.

Fitting in with the Team

Fitting seamlessly into the Social Progress team has been essential for fostering collaboration and synergy. As the saying goes, teamwork makes the dream work, and creating a supportive and collaborative work environment is paramount to achieving our collective goals. I’ve made a concerted effort to familiarise myself with the team dynamics and company culture. Whether it’s through active participation in team meetings, contributing ideas during brainstorming sessions, or simply engaging in casual conversations over coffee, I’ve endeavoured to build rapport with my colleagues and gain a deeper understanding of their roles and contributions to the team.

Looking Ahead

Looking ahead, I’m filled with optimism and excitement for the journey that lies ahead. While I’m still in the early stages of this role, I can already see opportunities for growth and development. From diving into new projects to exploring innovative strategies, there’s so much potential waiting to be unleashed. Here’s to embracing the challenges, celebrating the victories, and making a lasting impact in digital marketing.
